Musical Arrangements for the Vase… Autumn Rhythm and Lavender Mist
Harmonious late-summer floral arrangements in lavender and gold strike a rich and resonant chord on a grey September afternoon. Gathered from the woodland edges and surrounding meadow, gypsy wildflowers and late garden bloomers fill the house with vibrant color. Whether grouped together in a classic orchestra, jazzy duet, or soulful, solo performance, improvisational floral arrangements are music for the soul…

Hi Michaela, Thank you for sharing your fall chorus. Your artistry knows no bounds and I’m loving the myriad of compositions and varied presentation. This is my absolute favourite time of year to do up wild bouquets for the house. (My goal was always to see how many different varieties of wild asters I could find.)
Do you happen to know the name of the pretty pink “bubble-flowered” weed sharing the vase with rudbeckia, highbush cranberry(?), and grasses? They grow wild around here as well and I used to pick them for Nibbles, our connoisseur of wild edibles.
Hi Deb, Thank you! The weather here is misty and nearly-fall-like today. It would be lovely to get a bit of rain… maybe overnight?
I think you are asking about Pennsylvania smart weed (Polygonum pensylvanicum). I listed it in the ‘liner notes’ for one photo in the middle, but not at top (my bad). I will fix that! If that is not what you are looking for… comment again. I love using ‘weeds’ in flower arrangements.

Indeed, I think the hardest thing for me to do is “weeding” I have this overwhelming urge to either pot or transplant instead of just yank. ; )
