Some evenings in the garden are perfection: the first blossoms of Lindera benzoin —glistening droplets of pure gold— the buzz of drunken bees, and the day’s radiant afterglow…

    Oh that middle photo takes my breath away.You have made this gray morning in Gloucester much brighter.
    Yesterday I took the dogs on a long hike in the woods.I was rewarded by seeing a 3 ft long snake,a patch of sweet white trillium,and the mountain laurel which LOVED the deep snow cover and is now standing strong with shiny greenery, not ready to flower yet stunning.
    Birdsong accompanied me along the stony hilly paths…and I searched for the woodcock I saw last week. Ahhhhh…spring!

    @ Peg – That sounds like the perfect way to spend a spring day. I think the Mt. Laurel will be spectacular this year. All of that deep snow was wonderfully insulating! Indeed it is grey and rainy here this morning too, but my what this will do for the green! xo M
