Please Forgive Me, If I Stop and Stare… But Your Beauty, In This Light, Just Takes My Breath Away…
Like Droplets of Gold: Honey-Scented Blossoms of Lindera benzoin
Lingering light and warm breezes… A sweet scent like honey fills the air. It’s springtime, and suddenly I’m falling in love all over again. Lindera, pardon me if I stop and stare… But your beauty, in this light, just takes my breath away.
Some evenings in the garden are perfection: the first blossoms of Lindera benzoin —glistening droplets of pure gold— the buzz of drunken bees, and the day’s radiant afterglow…

Oh that middle photo takes my breath away. You have made this gray morning in Gloucester much brighter.
Yesterday I took the dogs on a long hike in the woods.I was rewarded by seeing a 3 ft long snake,a patch of sweet white trillium, and the mountain laurel which LOVED the deep snow cover and is now standing strong with shiny greenery, not ready to flower yet stunning.
Birdsong accompanied me along the stony hilly paths…and I searched for the woodcock I saw last week. Ahhhhh…spring!
@ Peg – That sounds like the perfect way to spend a spring day. I think the Mt. Laurel will be spectacular this year. All of that deep snow was wonderfully insulating! Indeed it is grey and rainy here this morning too, but my what this will do for the green! xo M
WOW! “Forrest Edge at Ferncliff” looks like it should be a picture hanging in my livingroom! So tranquil. Makes me want to be there. Thanks for the AHHH moment Michaela.
